Somehow, the effort of recovering from the bank holiday, in terms of stuff to do at work, seems to cancel out any benefits of having the four days off.

Last night, I went out to the pub with The Girls for the first time in…well…a very long time. It used to be a weekly tradition, but fell by the wayside more recently as people moved away, acquired jobs with long hours and had health problems.

It’s been a while since I did some serious book shopping and I’ve got rather a build-up of vouchers from various birthdays and Christmases. So yesterday Da and I went into London for a father-daughter book shopping trip.
