Somehow, the effort of recovering from the bank holiday, in terms of stuff to do at work, seems to cancel out any benefits of having the four days off.
Working for a retail organisation would have a lot to do with that. Easter and retail always equals busy, even if you’re working at head office rather than in a store.
Still, at least I’m getting to spend today buried in code after two days of writing reports.
Last night was the second pub night with The Girls and we’ve concluded that we just need to book all Wednesdays out as pub night. Much fun and plenty of chattering.
The holiday was great – lots of time with the family, lots of relaxation and plenty of reading. I even managed to get some studying done, too. It was surprising just how good I felt on Monday and I realised that, for the first time in ages, I wasn’t tired. You can plough on being tired, just get on with something, not realising how drained and exhausted you are until you have a few days of rest and discover what it’s like to not be tired.
As to the reading:
Phoenix and Ashes (Elemental Masters, Book 3)
Mercedes Lackey
Beguilement (The Sharing Knife #1)
Lois McMaster Bujold
The Mercedes Lackey was very good – absorbing but quite light reading. The Bujold I’m three-quarters of the way through and enjoying it immensely. It’s set in a new world and she managed to make it quite different from the Chalion books while being distinctively Bujold.
